About

I’m a certified and published Linux System Administrator with 20 years of experience in the IT field.

Most of my career has been spent managing large corporate environments. While with the hosting company BayMountain, I was the Engineering Manager responsible for the design and relocation of our data center and migration of our client’s Windows/Linux servers. I’ve also supported projects for the environments of Philip Morris, Bank of America, Circuit City and Capital One. I’m currently managing the Earthquake Early Warning System for USGS.

I’ve also written 5 books and several white papers published in the IT field including UNIX and Linux certification study guides, UNIX security and network optimization. I have certifications in Solaris UNIX and an MCSE.
